Main Goal

(Problem → Opportunity)

Saving links was never the problem — forgetting them was.

People save articles, newsletters, and resources across bookmarks, tabs, and apps, but those links rarely resurface. The result is lost knowledge, fragmented tools, and abandoned “read later” lists.

The goal was to change this behavior by shifting from passive saving to active resurfacing, ensuring content always comes back when it’s most convenient.

Process

(Solution & Change Mechanism)

RecapBot introduces a simple but powerful shift in workflow.

Instead of saving links and hoping to return, users send content to RecapBot.

The system centralizes multiple inputs and does the work automatically.

Users can:

  • Save links via RSS feeds, browser extensions, newsletters, or manual input

  • Receive AI-generated TL;DRs and summaries

  • Get recaps delivered proactively via email or WhatsApp

  • Organize content into private or public recaps

  • Review, edit, and share recaps across platforms

The product replaces disconnected “read later” tools with a continuous loop: save → recap → resurface.

Outcome

(User Impact)

The experience shifts from content hoarding to knowledge recall.

What improves for the user:

  • Saved content no longer disappears

  • Insights arrive summarized, not buried in links

  • Reading fits into real life, not ideal schedules

  • Returning to content becomes effortless

RecapBot turns “I’ll read this later” into “I already know what matters — and I can dive deeper anytime.”

One More Thing

(From Personal Recaps to Audience Sharing)

An unexpected behavior revealed a new opportunity.

A client started sharing public recaps directly with their audience through a WhatsApp group, using RecapBot as the backend for an AI-powered newsletter. Instead of manually writing updates, they curated links once and let recaps do the distribution.

This surfaced a broader shift:

RecapBot wasn’t just helping users remember content — it enabled them to turn curation into communication.

What changed:

  • Recaps became audience-facing assets

  • Messaging apps emerged as publishing channels

  • Curation evolved from personal recall to community value

This insight influenced how public recaps were positioned: not as a feature, but as a way to share knowledge continuously without extra effort

Product Principles

Proactive, not passive

Content resurfaces automatically via email or WhatsApp so users don’t have to remember to come back.

Multi-input curation

Links, RSS feeds, newsletters, and extensions all flow into one unified recap system.

AI-assisted synthesis

Raw content is transformed into TL;DRs and summaries, not stored as unread links.

Deeply customizable delivery

Users choose when, where, and how recaps arrive. From preferred channels and timing to the bot’s tone and personality.

Shareable by default

Recaps can be made public and shared with audiences, enabling lightweight AI-powered newsletters.
